COURSE CURRICULUM

The Jewellery Design, Bench Skills and Business diploma program is structured over four semesters to provide students with a comprehensive education combining technical, creative, and business skills. In the first semester, students build foundational skills through courses in jewellery fabrication, metal finishing, jewellery techniques, drawing and design, and introduction to gemmology, alongside communications and general education electives. The second semester advances technical skills with jewellery fabrication, repair, stone setting, and introduces computer-aided design (CAD), while also covering professional principles and photography for promotion. The third semester deepens bench skills through model making, casting, advanced repair, stone setting, and CAD, complemented by sales and marketing instruction and a general education course. The final semester focuses on advanced techniques, including advanced model making, repair, stone setting, and CAD, alongside jewellery trade business practices and a history course that integrates business perspectives. Students complete general education requirements throughout the program to support their overall development. With over 1,200 hours of training, the program equips students with practical expertise and business knowledge needed to succeed in the jewellery industry, preparing them for roles in design, production, marketing, and retail, or for entrepreneurship in the field.
