COURSE CURRICULUM

The program plan designed to build a comprehensive foundation in entrepreneurship and business management. In the first semester, students focus on foundational courses including Introduction to Organizational Behaviour, Microcomputer Applications, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Mathematics of Finance, Introduction to Marketing, and a Communications course. This semester totals 252 hours and introduces students to essential business concepts and skills. The second semester expands on these fundamentals with courses such as Financial Accounting Principles, Entrepreneurship Opportunity Analysis, Founders’ Forum, Strategic Marketing Planning, a second Communications course, and a General Education course, again totaling 252 hours. In the third semester, students deepen their entrepreneurial knowledge through Social Entrepreneurship, Business Planning, Financing a Small Business, Entrepreneurship Legal Issues, Digital Marketing and Analytics, and a General Education course, maintaining the 252-hour load. The final semester focuses on practical application and advanced skills with courses including Pitching the Plan, Entrepreneurial Practice, Entrepreneurial Business Operations, Production and Operations Management, a General Education course, and a Program Option course, totaling 252 hours. The total program consists of 1008 hours of study. Students select Program Option courses from a diverse list tailored to broaden their business knowledge and skills, including topics such as Computerized Accounting, Consumer Behaviour, International Business, Managing Family Owned Businesses, Intrapreneurship, Human Resources, Retail Management, Project Management, Sales Principles, and Canadian Business Research. This curriculum is designed to prepare students for various career paths including starting their own business, working in family or small businesses, or innovating within larger organizations, while also offering flexibility for further studies. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to engage with real-world business challenges, fostering critical thinking, planning, and operational skills necessary for entrepreneurial success.
