COURSE CURRICULUM

The Automotive Business program offers a comprehensive curriculum that blends business fundamentals with specialized knowledge of the automotive industry. Spanning four semesters and including two co-op work terms, the program prepares students for diverse roles across sectors such as dealerships, aftermarket, manufacturing, and fleet operations. In the first semester, students gain foundational skills through courses in financial accounting, marketing, organizational behavior, and an overview of the automotive industry and technology. Semester two focuses on fixed operations, dealership management, finance, and microcomputer applications. By the third semester, students advance into applied Excel, human resources, digital marketing, and explore the Canadian automotive aftermarket, along with electives and general education. The final semester emphasizes dealership sales operations, macroeconomics, financial statements analysis, automotive law and ethics, and additional electives. Throughout the program, students choose from a wide range of program options, including entrepreneurship, advertising, global business, customer service, business ethics, project management, logistics, and marketing strategy. Two paid co-op terms—each 560 hours—allow students to apply their learning in real-world environments, gain industry experience, and build professional networks. Graduates emerge with a strong mix of business acumen, technical knowledge, and practical experience, making them competitive candidates for roles in the rapidly evolving automotive sector.
