COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured over four semesters and offers a comprehensive and supportive educational pathway tailored for students with diverse learning needs. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills through core courses such as Personal Development for School and Work, Introduction to Healthy Living, Introduction to Computers, and Field Placement Preparation, along with an intensive Communication Essentials course, totaling 224 hours. Semester 2 focuses on career readiness with courses like Career Planning and Preparation and Numeracy for School and Work. Students also begin their experiential learning with Field Placement 1 and choose two customized courses—one from a program area of interest and another from general education, electives, or program-specific options, bringing the semester to 336 hours. Semester 3 builds on this experience with Advanced Career Planning and Preparation and a course in Citizenship, while students engage in Field Placement 2 and again select two courses to match their goals and interests, also totaling 336 hours. In the final semester, students complete their learning with a course in Personal Agency and Social Change, Field Placement 3, and two additional customized course selections. With a total of 1,190 program hours, students graduate with practical work experience, academic knowledge, and enhanced personal and vocational skills for entry-level employment and independent adult living.
