COURSE CURRICULUM

The Pre-Engineering Techniques program’s planned course sequence for the full-time Fall intake spans two semesters, totaling 630 hours of study. In Semester 1, students engage in foundational courses including Computer Technology for Environmental Applications, Introduction to Technical Drafting, Workplace Safety and Employment Readiness, and Introduction to Technical Mathematics. Additionally, they study Electrical Components and Civil/Construction Surveying, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential to engineering fields. Students also select a communications course during registration to enhance their professional communication abilities. This semester totals 308 hours, focusing on building a strong technical base and safety awareness. Semester 2 deepens students’ expertise with courses such as CNC Applications, Principles of Programming, Construction Practices, and Electrical Systems and Control. Applied Engineering Math, Engineering Physics, and an Additive Manufacturing Project provide further hands-on learning opportunities, combining math, physics, and innovative manufacturing techniques. This semester, comprising 322 hours, emphasizes applied knowledge and technical problem-solving skills critical for engineering technology roles. Together, these semesters prepare students with a balanced curriculum of theory, practice, and essential soft skills, positioning them well for further studies or entry-level technical careers in engineering and related industries.
