Courses include Construction Practices, where students gain practical experience with building methods, and Electrical Trade Practices, which introduces the basics of electrical systems and safety. Mathematics Techniques supports technical learning with essential math skills tailored to trades applications. Engine Function and Design offers insight into mechanical systems, while Plumbing Theory and Plumbing Practical courses provide both theoretical and hands-on training in plumbing installation and repair. Additionally, students choose a Communications course to enhance their professional communication abilities, essential for effective teamwork and workplace interaction. This semester totals 322 hours of study, balancing theory and practice.In Semester 2, the focus shifts towards finishing techniques and specialized skills. Courses in Finishing Processes, Joinery and Fastening, and Finishing Applications refine students’ craftsmanship in cabinetry and construction finishes. CAD Drafting equips students with technical drawing and design software skills necessary for modern construction projects. Introduction to Electricity and Introduction to Gas Appliances broaden understanding of electrical systems and gas-powered equipment, crucial for many construction and maintenance roles. Students also select a General Education course, which supports broader learning and critical thinking skills.
