COURSE CURRICULUM

The College Foundations program’s planned course sequence for full-time Fall intake students includes a comprehensive curriculum designed to support exploration and skill development. In Semester 1, students take foundational courses such as Learning Strategies and College Exploration, totaling 112 hours, alongside one Communications course and one General Education course, each 42 hours. Additionally, students select two Program Option courses totaling 84 hours, chosen in consultation with the Program Coordinator, for a total of 280 hours in the semester. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with courses like Critical and Creative Thinking (42 hours) and Social Change in Action (56 hours), along with one General Education course (42 hours). Students also select three Program Option courses totaling 126 hours, again with guidance from the Program Coordinator, to total 266 hours in the semester. Overall, the program offers a flexible yet structured pathway, with a total of 546 hours, enabling students to develop critical thinking, academic strategies, and career exploration skills. This sequence supports students in earning transferable credits, making informed decisions about their academic and career goals, and preparing effectively for further vocational studies or direct entry into the workforce.
