COURSE CURRICULUM

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) pathway for full-time Fall intake students outlines a structured progression through coursework and clinical placements. In semester 3, students complete courses in Fundamentals of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Indigenous Health and Reconciliation, Professional Transitions and Nursing Practice, Advanced Pathophysiology and Microbiology, and a non-core course in Introduction to Multidisciplinary Research, totaling 210 hours. Semester 4 includes Ethical and Legal Issues for Health, Health Challenges 2 focusing on clients with acute and complex health challenges, Foundations for Clinical Practice 3, Research and Statistics for Health Professionals, and 128 hours of clinical practice, totaling 296 hours. Semester 5 covers Health Challenges 3: Family Across the Lifespan, Health Challenges for Unique Populations such as Gerontology and Mental Health, a clinical placement of 90 hours, and non-core courses Introduction to Psychology 1 and Introduction to Society and Culture, with a total of 244 hours.
