Georgian College, established in 1967 as part of Ontario's public college system, is a College of Applied Arts and Technology with seven campuses across Ontario, the largest in Barrie. Serving over 13,000 full-time students—including 4,500 international students from 85 countries—Georgian offers a wide array of programs, including certificates, diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, apprenticeships, and university transfer options across fields such as business, health sciences, engineering, arts, and skilled trades. It offers multiple honours bachelor's degrees and collaborates with Lakehead University and other institutions like York University and Central Michigan University to deliver combined degree-diploma and graduate programs. Its University Partnership Centre supports academic pathways through more than 780 global articulation agreements. The college is known for small class sizes and a strong focus on applied learning and co-op education, with over 6,200 employer partners. Georgian’s Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre supports startups through mentorship, funding, and training, and the college is recognized as Canada's first Ashoka U "changemaker college" for its leadership in social innovation. Georgian maintains a high graduate employment rate, with over 90% of graduates securing jobs within six months of graduation, consistently exceeding provincial averages.
