COURSE CURRICULUM

The Health Care Management program is delivered over two semesters in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person learning to accommodate working professionals. In the first semester, students build a strong foundation with courses such as Communication Strategies for Health Care Leaders, Health Care Financial Management, and Health Care Policy, Quality, Safety, and Risk Management. Emphasis is placed on understanding health equity and sustainability, leadership in healthcare administration, management of operations, and project management, ensuring students develop the skills to lead teams and manage resources effectively in complex healthcare settings. The course on Health Informatics and Introduction to Data equips students with essential knowledge about data management and technology’s role in healthcare. In the second semester, the curriculum advances with courses like Advanced Health Care Technology and Data Analytics, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving for Health Care Leaders, and Decision-making and Governance. Students also study Grant Proposal and Funding Opportunities, Health and Human Resources Management, and Innovation, Partnership, and Collaboration in Community Health Care to prepare for diverse management challenges. Managing Change and Truth and Reconciliation in Health Care courses emphasize adaptability and cultural competence in leadership roles. The program culminates in a Capstone Project, where students apply their learning to real-world healthcare management issues. This comprehensive approach prepares graduates to lead interprofessional healthcare teams, drive organizational improvements, and successfully navigate the evolving Canadian healthcare landscape.
