COURSE CURRICULUM

The Glassblowing program offers a dynamic and immersive curriculum designed to equip students with both the creative and technical skills needed to excel in the art of glassmaking. In the first semester, students engage in a wide range of courses that provide a comprehensive foundation in glass art. Courses such as Blowing Skills, Hands and Tools, Skills Building, and Integrated Techniques focus on developing core competencies in shaping molten glass, while Kiln Work for Glass Blowing and Mould Making introduce essential supporting techniques. Artistic development is emphasized through Design – Glassblowing, Design for Production Glass, Drawing – Glassblowing, and Art History – Glass, allowing students to contextualize their practice within historical and contemporary frameworks. Colour application and theory are explored in Introduction to Colour and Colour Skills, encouraging creative experimentation. Students also undertake an Independent Project to showcase their growing capabilities and vision. Professional development is supported through Marketing/Portfolio Development, which prepares students to present their work effectively. Delivered in a hands-on studio environment with access to professional-grade tools and equipment, the program enables students to build a strong portfolio and prepares them for careers in glass art, further education, or entrepreneurship in the craft and design industry.
