COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Techniques - Plumbing program designed to provide students with foundational skills and knowledge needed for a career in plumbing. In the first semester, students focus on Applied Tools and Piping Methods I, learning essential hands-on skills for working with piping systems. They also take Communications I for Trades and Technology Professionals to develop workplace communication skills, and Computer Skills in Trades to enhance their technical proficiency. Health and Safety Theory Applications ensure students understand the importance of safety in the trade. Plumbing Systems Theory I introduces the fundamental concepts of plumbing, while Prints and Drafting teaches students to interpret technical drawings. Trade Calculations I strengthens their mathematical skills relevant to the trade, and Welding Processes & Practices provide practical welding experience.In the second semester, students advance their practical skills with Applied Tools and Piping Methods II and Plumbing Fixtures Installation and Service, gaining experience with real-world plumbing installations. Plumbing Prints and Drafting further develops their ability to read and create detailed plans. Plumbing Systems Theory II builds on foundational knowledge, covering more complex systems. Students also focus on portfolio development to prepare for career opportunities. Trade Calculations II continues to enhance their math skills, while Water Systems & Renewable Energy Sources for Plumbing introduces sustainable plumbing technologies. The semester concludes with Technology and Labour: Your Success, Your Future, which helps students navigate the evolving trades industry. This program equips graduates with practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and certifications that prepare them for apprenticeships and employment in the plumbing field.
