COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (Co-op) program at Fanshawe College is structured across three levels, combining foundational knowledge with advanced technical skills and practical experience. In Level 1, students build core competencies through courses such as Graduate Success Strategies, Essential Skills for Management Professionals, Career Planning, introductory databases, and programming in Python and JavaScript, along with an introduction to data science and machine learning. Level 2 advances into specialized topics, including TensorFlow and Keras, deep learning with PyTorch, Natural Language Processing, machine learning security, data mining, and data visualization, alongside co-op employment preparation. In Level 3, students deepen their expertise with advanced deep learning techniques using TensorFlow and Keras, further studies in Natural Language Processing, machine learning optimization strategies, and social media analytics. The program culminates in a comprehensive capstone project, allowing students to apply their accumulated knowledge to real-world problems. Throughout the program, learners gain both technical and professional skills, preparing them for careers in AI, data science, and machine learning across various industries, while also benefiting from hands-on, project-based learning and co-operative work opportunities.
