COURSE CURRICULUM

The Veterinary Technician program is structured across multiple levels to build progressively advanced skills in animal healthcare, clinical procedures, and veterinary science. In Level 1, students develop a strong foundation in veterinary nursing, anatomy and physiology, animal behaviour, clinical care, laboratory procedures, veterinary terminology, and pharmaceutical mathematics, while also gaining essential skills in IT applications for veterinary practice. Communication and personal wellness courses support professional development and readiness for clinical environments. Level 2 expands into more specialized areas such as parasitology, pharmacology, veterinary imaging, nutrition, advanced clinical care, nursing, and laboratory procedures, supported by a field placement that provides real-world experience in veterinary settings. In Level 3, students advance further into complex clinical competencies, including surgical techniques, anesthesia, dentistry, laboratory animal studies, and large animal care, along with higher-level imaging and clinical lab work. Level 4 focuses on professional practice, advanced nursing, exotic animal care, anesthesia, and extensive clinical laboratory procedures, combined with a significant field placement that allows students to apply their skills in real veterinary environments. Across all levels, the program emphasizes hands-on learning, clinical accuracy, and animal welfare, preparing graduates to work confidently alongside veterinarians in clinics, hospitals, research facilities, and animal care organizations in diverse and demanding professional settings.
