COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business – Insurance program is a structured multi-level diploma designed to prepare students for careers in the insurance and risk management industry. In Level 1, students build foundational knowledge through courses such as Principles of Accounting, Business Writing, Principles of Marketing, Business Mathematics, Introduction to Business Processes, and Strategies for Success. Level 2 introduces core insurance concepts including Fundamentals of Insurance, Risk Principles, Contemporary Issues in Economics, and Professional Communication, along with either Organizational Behaviour or Innovation Applications. In Level 3, students focus on specialized insurance areas such as Property Insurance, Auto Insurance, Commercial Lines I, Ethics and Law, Advanced Excel for Business, and Risk Assessment. Level 4 further develops professional expertise with courses in Liability Insurance, Commercial Lines II, Underwriting Essentials, Loss Adjusting, Broker/Agent Essential Skills, Insurance Career Preparedness, and Financing Risks. The program combines business fundamentals with industry-specific insurance knowledge to prepare students for entry-level and junior roles in underwriting, claims, brokerage, and risk analysis. It emphasizes practical skills, communication, and decision-making abilities required in the insurance sector.
