COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aviation Technician – Avionics Maintenance program is structured over four levels to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in aircraft systems, electronics, and maintenance practices. In Level 1, students begin with core subjects such as Avionics Electrical Fundamentals, Aircraft Aerodynamics, Aviation Maintenance Practices, Aircraft Materials and Hardware, Communication Strategies for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, and Co-operative Education Employment Preparation, building essential technical and communication skills. Level 2 introduces advanced topics including Aircraft Structures, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, Land Gear Systems, Fuels, Environment and Safety, Aircraft Propulsion and Instruments, and Avionics Electronic Fundamentals, along with a general education elective. In Level 3, students study Aircraft Electrical Power, Flight Instruments, Internal Communications, Avionics Digital Fundamentals, and Avionics Radio systems, while also completing a general education elective to broaden their knowledge base. Level 4 focuses on specialized and practical applications such as Avionics Installations and Standard Practices, Aircraft Navigation Systems, Flight Line Maintenance Practices, and Aircraft Wireless Communications, supported by additional general education electives. Throughout the program, students develop strong technical expertise in avionics systems, maintenance procedures, and safety standards, preparing them for careers in the aviation industry through both classroom learning and practical, industry-relevant training.
