COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering Technician – Industrial Maintenance program is structured across multiple levels to provide students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills required to work with modern industrial machinery. In Level 1, students begin with foundational courses such as Electricity, Skills for Career Success, Mathematics for Trades, Basic Mechanics Theory, Applied Mechanics, and Routine Maintenance Theory and Practice. These courses introduce essential concepts in electrical systems, mechanical principles, and basic maintenance operations. In Level 2, students progress to Fundamentals of PLCs, advanced Mathematics for Trades, Drawings and Schematics, Fluid Power systems (theory and application), Machining Theory and Practice, and Introduction to Small Business Concepts, building both technical and practical skills. Level 3 further develops expertise through Computer-Aided Design for Industrial Maintenance, Welding Theory and Practice, Power Transmission Methods and Applications, and advanced Routine Maintenance Theory and Applied Maintenance. The program emphasizes hands-on training in machining, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, along with exposure to industrial equipment and maintenance procedures. Students also gain problem-solving and technical communication skills needed in the workplace. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, manufacturing, and technical support roles in various industrial sectors.
