COURSE CURRICULUM

The Plumbing Techniques program is structured across two progressive levels to build foundational knowledge and hands-on trade skills required for entry into the plumbing industry. In Level 1, students are introduced to core plumbing theory, learning the basic principles of plumbing systems and their applications. They develop practical skills in tools and piping methods, while also gaining experience in trade documentation and technical drawings essential for interpreting construction plans. Trade calculations are introduced to support accurate measurement and problem-solving in plumbing tasks. Students also receive an introduction to welding, construction health and safety practices, ensuring they understand safe work procedures from the beginning of their training. In Level 2, students build on this foundation with more advanced plumbing theory and piping techniques, strengthening their ability to work with complex systems. Trade documentation and calculations are further developed to improve precision and efficiency in real-world applications. Computer applications are introduced to support modern trade practices, while communication skills training helps students interact effectively in workplace environments. Across both levels, the program emphasizes a balance of theory, technical knowledge, and practical application, preparing students with the essential skills needed to pursue apprenticeship opportunities and begin a career in the plumbing trade with confidence.
