COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical Techniques program is a one-year certificate designed to provide students with essential knowledge and hands-on skills required to begin a career in the electrical field. In Level 1, students build a strong foundation through courses such as Troubleshooting Digital Electronics, Electrical Theory, Prints and Installation, Industrial Communication, and Tools and Workplace Techniques. These courses introduce basic electrical concepts, circuit analysis, reading technical drawings, and safe use of tools, while also developing communication skills needed in industrial environments. In Level 2, students advance their learning with courses including Introduction to Electrical Machines, Electrical Theory 2, Network Cabling, Fluid Power and Controls, Installation Practices, and Safety and Electrical Code. This level focuses on more complex electrical systems, wiring, cabling, and control systems, while emphasizing safety standards and industry regulations. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical lab-based training, allowing students to apply what they learn in real-world scenarios. By the end of the program, students are prepared to enter electrical apprenticeship pathways or pursue entry-level roles such as industrial electrician apprentice, construction electrician apprentice, or network cabling technician, with the foundational skills needed for a successful career in the electrical industry.
