COURSE CURRICULUM

The Honours Bachelor of Behavioural Psychology program is a structured eight-level degree designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical expertise in psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), and human development. In Level 1, students are introduced to foundational subjects such as Principles of Psychology, History of Behaviour, Disability Studies, and Human Development Foundations. Level 2 builds on this with courses like Psychology: My Mind & Behaviour, Developmental Disabilities in Ontario, Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis, and Early Human Development. In Level 3, students study Ethics and Professionalism, advanced ABA concepts, ASD and developmental disabilities, applied research methods, and human development across the lifespan. Level 4 focuses on skill acquisition programs, treatment of challenging behaviour, family studies, professional communication, and includes a practicum and seminar for real-world exposure. Level 5 introduces counselling theories, statistics in human behaviour, mental health across the lifespan, and single-subject research design. Level 6 advances into behavioural counselling, mediator training, education-based behavioural psychology, along with a second practicum and internship seminar. Level 7 covers organizational behaviour management, brain injury treatment, addictions, and applied thesis work. Finally, Level 8 includes health, gerontology, interdisciplinary practice, and a second applied thesis. The program concludes with a major internship, ensuring strong professional readiness.
