COURSE CURRICULUM

The Construction Engineering Technology program is a structured multi-level diploma designed to prepare students for careers in construction management, site supervision, estimating, and project coordination. In Level 1, students begin with foundational courses such as Construction Technologies, Mathematics in Technology, Health and Safety, Methods and Materials, Quantity Surveying, Construction Surveying, and Communication and Writing for Technology, along with co-op preparation. Level 2 builds on these skills with Sustainability in the Built Environment, Plumbing, advanced Quantity Surveying, Construction Surveying, Mathematics, Methods and Materials, and Statics and Mechanics. In Level 3, students study Heavy Construction Quantity Surveying, Contracts in Society, Site Logistics, Electrical Systems, HVAC fundamentals, Wood Design, and advanced estimating techniques. Level 4 focuses on Construction Contracts and Specifications, HVAC systems, Concrete Design, advanced Site Logistics, and Building Economics. Level 5 develops expertise in Building Science, Construction Management, Technical Report Writing, Electrical Estimating, advanced Quantity Surveying, Computer Estimating, Steel Design, and Building Economics. Level 6 emphasizes advanced Construction Management, Plumbing and HVAC Estimating, Computer Estimating, Construction Surveying, advanced Construction Technologies, and advanced Quantity Surveying. Overall, the program combines technical knowledge, estimating skills, project management, and practical training to prepare students for leadership roles in the construction industry.
