COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Administrative Studies (MAS) degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University Vancouver is designed to equip professionals with advanced skills in administration, leadership, and decision-making. The program follows a structured yet flexible course sequence to ensure a logical progression through foundational, core, and specialization components, tailored to each student's goals and start term. Students begin with EPS 6299, a Graduate Research Seminar (1.5 non-academic credits), followed by five core courses—MADS 6600 (Theory and Practice of Administration), MADS 6602 (Personnel Administration), MADS 6604 (Ethics and Public Values), MADS 6601 (Financial Administration), and MADS 6610 (Organizational Decision Making)—to build essential administrative and analytical competencies. Upon completing 24 credits, students take the capstone course, MADS 6612 (Seminar Strategic Management), which synthesizes knowledge and strategic thinking skills. Students then choose one of five specialization areas, each requiring four courses (12 credits): Computer Security and Forensic Administration, Global Health and Human Services Administration, Global Leadership and Administration, Global Technology Administration, or Human Resources Administration. Each specialization includes three administrative (A) courses and one analytic/decision-making (D) course. These specialization options offer focused study in topics such as cybersecurity, leadership, project management, health systems, employment law, HR analytics, and organizational communication, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to lead in their chosen fields.
