COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies (BAIS) with a Specialization in Hospitality and Tourism Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University Vancouver is a 120-credit interdisciplinary degree program designed to provide both academic flexibility and targeted industry preparation. The curriculum includes 58 credits of general education requirements that develop foundational competencies across written and oral communication, information and technology literacy, ethical reasoning, global and cultural understanding, scientific and quantitative analysis, social and behavioral sciences, and the arts and humanities. Students also complete First Year Seminar courses, an international perspective requirement, and an advanced writing course. The specialization in Hospitality and Tourism Management includes 21 credits of core courses such as Sales and Marketing Management, Hotel Asset Management, Lodging Data Analytics, and Talent Management, giving students hands-on and industry-relevant knowledge. Additionally, students complete 41 elective credits, of which at least 21 must be from HRTM courses, allowing for further specialization or broadening of knowledge. Elective options span both hospitality and business disciplines, including courses in accounting, marketing, management, international business, and niche hospitality topics such as Casino Management, Event Management, and Digital Marketplaces.
