COURSE CURRICULUM

In Semester 1, students begin their legal studies with courses in communication and writing, ethics and professional responsibility, and administrative law. They also focus on legal research and writing, as well as learning about torts and contracts, the Canadian legal system, and alternative dispute resolution. In Semester 2, students study advocacy, landlord and tenant law, tribunal practice and procedure, and small claims court. They further explore employment law, evidence, and provincial and motor vehicle offences. Semester 3 introduces legal accounting, advanced legal computer applications, and a field placement for practical experience. Students also learn about criminal summary conviction procedures and practice management to prepare for the legal profession.
