COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering Technology program’s coursework provides a comprehensive foundation across multiple engineering disciplines over six semesters. In the first semester, students develop essential skills with courses like Communication Foundations, Manufacturing Sciences, Additive Manufacturing Fundamentals, Mathematics for Technology I, Engineering Drawings, and Engineering Graphics 1. The second semester builds on this with Career Planning & Development, Electrical Control Fundamentals, Fluid Power I, Mathematics for Technology II, Engineering Graphics 2, Physical Science, and a General Education elective. Semester three deepens technical knowledge with Fluid Power II, Manufacturing Processes, Calculus, Engineering Design Elements, Engineering Materials, Computer-Aided Design for Technology 1, and Mechanics of Materials. The fourth semester includes Dynamics of Machines, Computer-Aided Manufacturing for Technology 1, Applied Mechanics, Materials and the Environment, Computer-Aided Design for Technology 2, Engineering Data Management, and a General Education elective. Semester five offers Fluid Mechanics, Computer-Aided Manufacturing for Technology 2, Computer-Aided Design and Engineering, Metrology 1, Tool Design, Statistical Quality Control I, and a Field Placement. The final semester focuses on Manufacturing Automation, Engineering Design Product, Metrology 2, Statistical Quality Control II, Thermodynamics, and a General Education elective. Together, these courses equip students with the technical expertise and practical experience required to excel in various engineering roles and industries.
