COURSE CURRICULUM

The Game-Art program offers a structured curriculum designed to develop students’ skills in all facets of game artistry, combining creative and technical learning. In the first semester, students build foundational skills through courses such as Communication Foundations, Pre-Production 1, Traditional Art 1, Animating I, Modelling 1, Real Time Engines, and Surfacing 1. The second semester continues this progression with advanced courses like Pre-Production 2, Traditional Art 2, Animating 2, Real Time Engines 2, Modelling 2, Surfacing 2, and an Indigenous Elective, emphasizing both technical proficiency and cultural awareness. By the third semester, students engage in Pre-Production 3, Animating 3, Environment Art 1, Modelling 3, Surfacing 3, a General Education Elective, and Asset Production Workshop 1, focusing on practical production skills. The fourth semester deepens expertise with Pre-Production 4, Animating 4, Environment Art 2, Modelling 4, Surfacing 4, another General Education Elective, and Asset Production Workshop 2. In the fifth semester, students tackle Animating 5, Environment Art 3, Modelling 5, Surfacing 5, Technical Artistry, Game Proposals, and Asset Production Workshop 3, preparing for industry challenges. The final semester centers on Portfolio Development, Post-Production Studio, Game Design Studio, Applied Projects and Research, and Asset Production Studio, equipping students with the professional tools and experience needed to succeed in the competitive game development field.
