COURSE CURRICULUM

The Computer Systems Technology program offers a comprehensive six-semester curriculum that combines foundational knowledge with advanced technical skills to prepare students for careers in IT systems management and support. In Semester 1, students study Communication Foundations, Computer Systems Hardware, Introduction to Programming, Data Communications and Networking 1, Introduction to Databases, and Mathematics for IT, establishing a strong technical and communication base. Semester 2 builds on this with Computer Systems Software, Enterprise Client Support, Data Communications and Networking 2, Web Development Fundamentals, IT Service Management, and a General Education elective. Semester 3 advances students’ skills with IT Career Essentials, Powershell programming, Data Communications and Networking 3, Network Administration 1, Linux 1, and another General Education elective. Semester 4 introduces Cloud Technology Fundamentals, Network Administration 2, Virtualization, Linux 2, Project Management, and a General Education elective, deepening expertise in network and cloud systems. In Semester 5, students cover Database Management, Linux 3, Network Administration 3, Security 1, Cloud Technology Architect, and Unified Communications, focusing on security and cloud architecture. The final semester includes a Field Placement for hands-on experience, an IT Capstone Project, Cloud Technology Operations, Security 2, Emerging Network Technologies, and Cross-Functional Collaboration, rounding out practical skills and industry readiness. This structured program ensures graduates are equipped to manage and innovate within complex IT infrastructures.
