COURSE CURRICULUM

The Civil Engineering Technology program offers a comprehensive six-semester curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with practical skills to prepare students for careers in civil engineering. In Semester 1, students are introduced to core concepts through courses such as Mathematics for Civil Engineering I, Computer Aided Drafting, Construction Materials and Testing, Introduction to Civil Engineering, Surveying Principles, and Communication Foundations, along with a General Education elective. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with courses in Mathematics II, 3D Drafting, Strength of Materials, Hydrology and Hydraulics, Advanced Surveying, Career Planning & Development, and another General Education elective. Semester 3 introduces advanced topics such as Construction Site Supervision, Steel and Wood Technology, Soil Mechanics, GIS, and Water and Wastewater Technology, paired with a third General Education elective. In Semester 4, students study Civil Project Estimating, Concrete and Masonry Design, Municipal Services, Pavement Engineering, QA/QC in Civil Works, and Building Information Modeling I. Semester 5 focuses on advanced applications including Project Management, Geotechnical Design, Codes and Regulations, Calculus, Highway Engineering I, Pre-Capstone Project, and Building Information Modeling II, followed by a Field Placement. In the final semester, students complete their Civil Capstone Project and study Environmental Engineering, Highway Engineering II, Infrastructure Repair, Construction Law and Ethics, and Human Resources Management, ensuring career readiness.
