COURSE CURRICULUM

In Semester 1, students are introduced to the foundations of communication and the basics of web technologies. They explore the design and conceptual process, begin developing skills in web design, and gain hands-on experience with digital illustration and imaging. Additionally, students learn photography techniques tailored for integrated media and complete a general education elective. Semester 2 builds upon the first, with more advanced study in web design and an introduction to server-side scripting and web animation. Students also begin coding specifically for design purposes and learn how to prototype for the web. Another general education elective complements the technical coursework. In Semester 3, students delve into content management systems, further enhance their web design skills, and explore web application frameworks. They advance their coding abilities for the web and continue building on web animation techniques. A third general education elective rounds out the semester. Finally, Semester 4 focuses on the application of accumulated skills in a professional context. Students progress to the second level of content management systems and web design, as well as advanced web coding. They prepare a professional portfolio, receive industry preparation, and engage in collaborative projects. The program concludes with a field placement, offering real-world experience in a workplace setting.
