COURSE CURRICULUM

In Semester 1, students are introduced to foundational courses in communication, ethical reasoning, fitness, and academic preparation. They study the Canadian Criminal Justice System, the Criminal Code of Canada, security guard regulations, and psychology, providing a broad understanding of the field. In Semester 2, the curriculum continues with advanced communication skills, an Indigenous elective, and courses in by-law enforcement, border services, enforcement procedures, and investigative techniques. Students also explore risk and emergency management. Semester 3 includes courses in digital literacy and cybercrime, politics and public administration, and fitness. Students also take career preparation and delve into alcohol and gaming regulations. Field placement and courses on youth and diversity provide valuable hands-on experience. In Semester 4, students complete another general education elective and advanced fitness training. Career preparation continues, along with courses in corrections, forensic psychology, mental health for emergency responders, and officer safety. Field placement provides further real-world experience in emergency response and law enforcement.
