COURSE CURRICULUM

The Music Business program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with practical skills and industry knowledge essential for success in the music industry. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills with courses such as Communication Foundations, Live Sound, Music History and Appreciation, Event Planning and Management, Networking and Personal Selling, alongside Music Business Practicum 1 and Music Industry Overview 1. Semester 2 deepens their expertise with Communication for Music Business Professionals 1, Graphic Design Essentials, Contract Law, Music Business Practicum 2, Music Industry Overview 2, and Event Workshop 1, complemented by a General Education Elective. Semester 3 focuses on advanced topics like Communication for Music Business Professionals 2, Copyright Law, Music Industry Math, Music Marketing, Music Business Practicum 3, and Music Supervision and Video Production, alongside an Indigenous Elective. The final semester, Semester 4, prepares students for real-world industry challenges with courses in Accounting, Tour Management, Promotions and Publicity, Music Business Practicum 4, Music Publishing, and Event Workshop 2, plus another General Education Elective. Throughout the program, the practicum courses provide hands-on experience, allowing students to apply their learning in practical settings.
