COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first semester, students build a strong foundation in communication and mathematics while being introduced to key technical areas relevant to the elevating devices industry. They learn the basics of mechanical maintenance with a focus on electricity and hydraulics, and begin exploring the fundamentals of elevating devices. Hands-on experience is provided through mechanical practice, and students are introduced to essential safety practices, including modernization and alteration standards in the field. The second semester expands on the electrical aspects of elevating devices and continues the study of elevator systems in more depth. Mathematics skills are further developed, and students begin applying their knowledge through practical training in the IMM Practical course, paired with IMM Theory to strengthen their understanding. A general education elective is included to provide broader academic learning. In the third semester, students dive deeper into electrical systems with courses on motors, generators, and AC drives, along with practical training in motor applications. They study industrial electricity and begin learning about the maintenance of elevating devices. Special attention is given to traction elevators, a critical component in modern vertical transportation. A general education elective supports a well-rounded education. The fourth and final semester focuses on more advanced technical knowledge. Students explore circuit tracing for elevating devices and delve into solid state electronics. Maintenance training continues with a second-level course, and students gain a deeper understanding of hydraulic systems used in elevators. A final general education elective complements their technical expertise, preparing them for careers in the elevating devices industry.
