COURSE CURRICULUM

The Inspection, Quality Control, and Non-Destructive Testing program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed for incoming students to develop essential skills in material inspection and defect analysis. In Semester 1, students take foundational courses such as Communication Foundations, Mathematics for Technology I, Engineering Drawings, Introduction to Non-Destructive Testing, Non-Destructive Testing using Liquid Penetrant, Physical Science, and a General Education Elective. Semester 2 builds on this knowledge with courses in Electrical Control Fundamentals, Fluid Power I, Applied Mechanics, Mathematics for NDE, Non-Destructive Testing using Magnetic Particle methods, and another General Education Elective. In Semester 3, the focus expands to Career Planning and Development, Metrology Foundations, Metallurgy for Non-Destructive Testing, Visual Testing, and the first level of Ultrasonic Testing. The final Semester 4 covers advanced topics such as Ultrasonic Testing II, Eddy Current Testing, Radiography and Radiation Safety, Statistical Methods in Quality Control, and specialized topics in Non-Destructive Evaluation. Throughout the program, students engage in both theoretical learning and practical applications, preparing them for industry certification and careers in fields where safety and quality assurance are critical. The structured sequence of courses ensures a solid understanding of testing technologies and quality control methods essential for maintaining the integrity of critical structures and components across various industries.
