COURSE CURRICULUM

The Law Clerk program’s curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in legal knowledge and practical skills essential for a successful legal career. In Semester 1, students begin with foundational courses such as Communication Foundations, Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and an Indigenous Elective, alongside key legal courses including Automated Law Office Procedures 1, Canadian Law and Courts, Contracts and Torts 1, and Legal Research. These courses establish essential skills in legal theory, research, and office technology. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with focused courses like Legal Career Preparation, Civil Litigation 1, Wills and Estates 1, Contracts and Torts 2, Real Estate Law 1, and Corporate and Commercial Law 1, preparing students for specialized areas of legal practice and further developing their understanding of litigation and law office procedures. In Semester 3, students advance their technical skills with Automated Law Office Procedures 2 and take a General Education Elective to broaden their perspective. They also deepen their expertise in Civil Litigation 2, Wills and Estates 2, and Real Estate Law 2, equipping them with the knowledge to handle complex legal matters and office tasks. Together, these courses offer a comprehensive blend of theory, practical application, and professional preparation, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to enter the legal workforce.
