COURSE CURRICULUM

The Interior Design program offers a well-rounded curriculum designed to equip incoming students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the field. In the first semester, students focus on foundational courses such as Communication Foundations, Interior Design Digital Applications, Introduction to Principles of Interior Decorating, Elements of Design, Principles of Inclusive Design, and Interior Curation through Drawing and Rendering. The second semester deepens their understanding of design trends, styles, history, and spatial curation, while introducing building systems and both residential and commercial interior decorating studios, along with a general education elective. Semester three emphasizes professional development with courses in Presentation, Communication and Marketing, Emerging Technologies in Interior Curation, and international perspectives on residential and commercial interior decorating studios. Students also prepare for their field placement and study Professional Practice for Interior Decorators, supported by a general education elective. In the final semester, students focus on curating a decorating portfolio, advanced inclusive design, emerging fields of practice, and complete their field placement in interior decorating, complemented by a general education elective. This comprehensive program blends theory, practical application, and professional preparation to ensure graduates are ready to thrive in the diverse and evolving interior decorating industry.
