The Plumbing certificate program consists of two semesters designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for a career in plumbing. In Semester 1, students take courses such as Communication Foundations, Plumbing Theory I, and Plumbing Practice I, which introduce fundamental plumbing concepts and hands-on techniques. Additional courses like Plumbing Trade Calculations and Plumbing Drafting and Blueprint Reading help students develop the mathematical and technical skills needed to interpret plumbing plans and perform accurate measurements. Plumbing Workplace Safety, Rigging & Hoisting ensures students learn essential safety protocols to work confidently and securely on job sites. In Semester 2, the curriculum builds on this foundation with courses such as Plumbing Codes Regulations and Standards, which familiarize students with the legal and regulatory aspects of the trade. Plumbing Theory II and Plumbing Practice II deepen technical knowledge and practical application, while Hydronic Heating introduces specialized systems involving water heating. Together, these courses prepare graduates for immediate entry into the plumbing workforce or apprenticeship programs, equipping them with the expertise to meet industry demands and safety standards.
