COURSE CURRICULUM

The Gas Technician program provides students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience required to work safely and effectively in the gas and oil heating industry. In **Semester 1**, students begin with an introduction to business practices relevant to the trade, along with foundational skills in metal fabrication. They study oil burner technology theory and gain practical experience through lab-based training in gas technician practices. Theory courses cover the fundamentals of gas systems, and students also participate in a work placement to apply their skills in a real-world setting. In **Semester 2**, students continue to build their expertise with courses focused on running a small business, advancing their knowledge in metal fabrication, and further developing their practical abilities in oil burner and gas technician work. They study advanced theory in oil burner systems and gas technologies while participating in a second work placement. This combination of classroom instruction, hands-on labs, and on-the-job experience prepares graduates for entry into the gas technician and heating industry with a well-rounded and industry-relevant skill set.
