COURSE CURRICULUM

The program’s courses are designed to equip incoming students with foundational skills in art and design across two semesters. In the first semester, students build essential communication skills through Communication Foundations while exploring creative concepts in Ideas and Images for Art and Design. They also develop technical proficiency with Digital Resources for Art and Design and Drawing I, which sharpens their observational and rendering skills. The Art of Photography introduces students to photographic techniques and visual composition, complementing their work in Studio Practice I – Design Essentials and Studio Practice I – Art Essentials, where they gain hands-on experience in both design and traditional art practices. In the second semester, students advance their drawing abilities with Digital Drawing and Drawing II, enhancing their artistic versatility. Fundamentals of Digital Audio and Video Production introduces multimedia skills that broaden their creative toolkit. A General Education Elective allows for personal or academic enrichment beyond the core curriculum. Presentation and Portfolio Techniques prepares students to effectively showcase their work, a critical skill for academic progression or career entry. Finally, Studio Practice II (3D Art and Design) expands their experience into three-dimensional creation, rounding out a comprehensive curriculum that fosters both technical skill and creative expression, preparing students for diverse opportunities in art and design fields.
