COURSE CURRICULUM

The Construction Project Management program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the construction industry by covering a broad range of technical, managerial, and legal topics. In the first semester, students focus on foundational subjects like construction methods, materials, equipment, estimating, and critical communication skills. As the program progresses, courses include architectural and engineering design, calculus, construction planning and scheduling, and project management fundamentals, alongside technical writing and materials science. Advanced semesters introduce Building Information Modelling (BIM), building science, quality control, construction law, and organizational behavior. Students also study construction costs, bidding, project financial analysis, building codes, and site management. The program integrates hands-on experience through work-integrated learning placements, preparing students for real-world challenges. In later semesters, emphasis is placed on sustainable building practices, human resources and labor relations, contract administration, business strategy, and construction project delivery systems. The curriculum culminates with an integrative project studio and advanced courses on leadership, supply chain management, and risk management. Throughout, students develop the skills necessary to oversee construction projects efficiently, manage teams, navigate legal frameworks, and implement sustainable and innovative solutions in the construction sector, positioning them for success in a dynamic and evolving industry.
