COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport Management program offers a detailed and progressive curriculum designed to prepare students for diverse roles in the sport industry. In Semester 1, foundational courses include Communication Foundations, Computer Applications 1 – Sport, Financial Management of Sport Organizations 1, Introduction to Sport Management, Sport Marketing 1, and Sport Development in Canada. Semester 2 builds on these skills with Computer Applications 2 – Sport, Volunteer and Non-Profit Management, Sport Marketing 2, Sport in Society, Professionalism for Sport Business, and a General Education Elective. Semester 3 focuses on advanced topics such as Financial Management of Sport Organizations 2, Facility Management, Sporting Goods Management, Event Management 1, Partnership in Sport, and a General Education Elective. Semester 4 enhances practical knowledge through Sales, Digital Marketing in Sport, Team and League Management, Event Management 2, Career Planning for Sport, and another General Education Elective. Semester 5 introduces specialized courses including Sport and the Law, Leadership in Sport, Fieldwork Seminar – Sport, The Future of Sport, Sport Business Analytics, Sport Entrepreneurship, and Sport and Media. The program culminates in Semester 6 with a hands-on Fieldwork – Sport course. Students must complete three unique elective courses as per diploma requirements, ensuring a well-rounded education that equips graduates to excel in managing, promoting, and leading within the dynamic sport industry.
