COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graphic Design program offers a comprehensive and creative curriculum that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in design. In **Semester 1**, students build a strong foundation through courses in communication, design principles, design tools, new media design, typography, and photography and illustration. This introductory phase fosters both technical ability and creative thinking. In **Semester 2**, students advance their skills with more in-depth courses in design, tools, and new media, along with the introduction of 3D design and materials. Typography continues to develop, and students select a general education elective to broaden their learning. **Semester 3** shifts focus to industry-relevant content, covering advertising and campaigns, branding identity, and advanced design tools. New media design and typography progress further, supported by an additional general education elective to enhance overall education. In **Semester 4**, students engage in studio-based learning with courses in editorial design, packaging design, and production workflows. They continue with advanced new media design and begin assembling their professional portfolios, while also exploring visual style development. **Semester 5** focuses on finalizing student portfolios and preparing for industry entry through portfolio studies and an industry directions course, accompanied by another general education elective. In **Semester 6**, students participate in a field placement, gaining hands-on experience in a real-world graphic design setting. This final semester is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice, ensuring graduates are career-ready.
