COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sport Science Diploma offers three specialization options, each requiring 60 credits tailored to different career goals. The Kinesiology Specialization requires 30 Sport Science credits, including core courses such as SPSC 1103, 1105, 1151, 1164, 1195, 2205, 2231, and 2275, plus 6 elective Sport Science credits. Students must also complete 6 Anatomy and Physiology credits (BIOL 1109 or 1103 and BIOL 1209 or 1203), 12 non-Sport Science electives, 3 Math credits, and 3 English credits, with ENGL 1130 recommended. The remaining credits are selected based on the student’s transfer goals. The Health and Recreation Specialization demands 36 Sport Science credits, including courses like SPSC 1103, 1105, 1192, 1195, 1318 or 1319, 2231, 2205, 2252, 2292, and 2210, plus 2 Sport Science electives. Additionally, students complete 6 non-Sport Science elective credits, 6 credits from Commerce and Business Administration courses (such as MARK 1120 or BUSN 1210), 3 Social Science credits (SOSC 2140), and 9 foundation credits including Psychology, English (ENGL 1130 recommended), and Math. The Interdisciplinary option allows for greater flexibility, requiring 18-30 Sport Science credits transferable to universities, 24-36 non-Sport Science electives, and 6 English credits (two courses, with ENGL 1130 recommended). This diploma structure supports a variety of academic and career pathways, enabling students to specialize in kinesiology, health and recreation, or pursue a broader interdisciplinary approach, all while preparing for further education or entry into related professions.
