COURSE CURRICULUM

The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Finance is a 60-credit, two-year program that provides a comprehensive foundation in financial theory and practical application, preparing students for roles such as financial planner, advisor, or investment analyst. The program begins with essential courses including Principles of Financial Accounting, Business Mathematics, Business Communication, Excel for Business, Introductory Business Law, Macroeconomics, Business Statistics, and Personal Finance I (aligned with CFP certification). Students choose between two introductory corporate finance courses: Corporate Finance or Introduction to Corporate Finance. Advanced coursework builds on this foundation with subjects like International Financial Management, Personal Finance II, Security Analysis, and Intermediate Accounting II. Students also select one advanced investment course—either Investment Management Techniques or Portfolio Management Techniques. To further tailor their learning, students choose five electives from a list of specialized finance and related subjects, including Financial Markets and Institutions, Financial Services Marketing, Income Tax II, Corporate and Financial Planning Law, Investment or Portfolio Management Techniques (if not previously selected), Financial Planning Capstone (CFP), Derivatives – Theory & Applications, and Financial Analysis Capstone. The curriculum integrates both Canadian-specific and globally relevant financial knowledge, supporting students’ eligibility for industry-recognized certifications such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Emphasizing both academic rigor and applied skills, this diploma equips graduates to analyze complex financial information, design investment strategies, navigate financial regulations, and support clients in achieving financial security. With its industry-aligned structure, the program opens pathways to careers in banking, investment firms, wealth management, and corporate finance.
