COURSE CURRICULUM

The Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting requires the completion of 60 credits of coursework covering a broad range of accounting and business topics essential for a successful career in accounting. Core courses include Principles of Accounting I and II, Introductory and Intermediate Managerial Accounting, and Intermediate Financial Accounting I and II, providing a solid foundation in financial and managerial accounting principles. Income Tax I and II courses prepare students for taxation roles, while Data Analytics for Managers equips them with modern analytical skills relevant to the profession. Advanced courses such as Advanced Financial Accounting, Advanced Management Accounting, and Auditing deepen knowledge in specialized areas. The program also includes business law, business statistics, business strategy, and competitive analysis to give students a comprehensive understanding of the business environment. Systems Analysis and Design, along with principles of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and corporate finance, further develop students’ skills in analyzing and interpreting financial data within economic and organizational contexts. Students must also select one statistics course from Business Statistics or Introduction to Statistics to enhance their quantitative skills. For those interested in gaining practical experience, there is an optional Cooperative Education component worth 9 additional credits, increasing the total credits to 69. This option allows students to apply their knowledge in real-world accounting environments, enhancing their employability and readiness for intermediate-level accounting positions upon graduation. The program thoroughly prepares students to meet the demands of the accounting profession and to pursue the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
