COURSE CURRICULUM

The Certificate in Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing Applicants requires completion of 30 credits, consisting of a combination of science, English, social sciences, and humanities courses that prepare students for entry into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. Students must select one statistics course from either MATH 1160 (Introduction to Statistics) or PSYC 2300 (Data Analysis in Psychology), both worth 3 credits. Core science courses include BIOL 1103 (Human Anatomy and Physiology I), BIOL 1203 (Human Anatomy and Physiology II), BIOL 2200 (Pathophysiology), and BIOL 2401 (Introductory Microbiology for Health Sciences), each carrying 3 credits. In addition to the science courses, students take ENGL 1130 (Academic Writing), which is essential for developing strong written communication skills.
