COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Services program requires a comprehensive set of courses designed to build strong foundations in accounting, finance, economics, marketing, and business management. Core courses include Principles of Accounting I and II, Business Mathematics, Management Essentials, Introduction to Marketing, Excel for Business, Principles of Microeconomics, and Introductory Business Law. Students must select two communication courses from Academic Writing, Business Communication, or Public Speaking, along with Business Ethics and Principles of Macroeconomics. Essential finance courses cover Personal Finance I, Business Statistics I, and either Corporate Finance or Introduction to Corporate Finance. Intermediate-level courses include Introductory Managerial Accounting, Organizational Management Skills, and Security Analysis, preparing students for professional designations such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Advanced finance electives allow students to specialize with courses like Personal Finance II, International Financial Management, Investment Management Techniques, and Portfolio Management Techniques. Additional electives offer in-depth knowledge in Financial Markets and Institutions, Income Tax I and II, Intermediate Accounting II, Business Statistics II, Financial Services Marketing, Corporate and Financial Planning Law, and various capstone courses including Financial Planning and Financial Analysis. Business Strategy and Competitive Analysis is a required course to develop strategic thinking skills. Students also complete open electives across multiple levels, totaling 39 credits, allowing for broad learning opportunities. The program concludes with the Career Portfolio Development capstone, requiring 1.5 credits and incorporating practical work experience to prepare students for successful careers in financial services.
