COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting program requires completion of a comprehensive set of courses totaling 121.5 credits, designed to provide a strong foundation in accounting and business principles. Core accounting courses include Principles of Accounting I and II, Computer Applications for Accounting, Introductory and Intermediate Managerial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Income Tax I and II, Advanced Financial and Management Accounting, Data Analytics for Managers, and Auditing. Business-related courses cover Management Essentials, Introductory Business Law, Business Statistics II, Business Strategy and Competitive Analysis, Corporate Finance, Introductory Marketing, and Career and Portfolio Development, which serves as a capstone course requiring 500 hours of Canadian work experience. Communication and technical skills are emphasized through Business Communication, Advanced Business Communication or Academic Writing, Excel for Business, and Systems Analysis and Design. Economics is covered with Principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. Students must also complete open electives, including seven 1000-4000 level electives, with 1000 and 2000 level electives being university transferable, plus five additional 3000-4000 level electives. Mathematics requirements offer a choice between Business Mathematics or Calculus for the Social Sciences, and Business Statistics or Introduction to Statistics. Ethical understanding is fostered through courses such as Values and Contemporary Issues, Business Ethics, Applied Legal and Ethical Decision Making, or Ethics and Workplace Skills. This well-rounded curriculum equips students with essential knowledge and practical skills in accounting, finance, management, communication, and ethics, preparing graduates for diverse roles in Canada’s financial industry.
