COURSE CURRICULUM

The first year of the program focuses on core courses that lay the foundation for effective management in various organizational contexts. Students will explore key areas such as Managing Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Managerial Economics, and Managerial Ethics and Decision Making. They will also learn about managing diversity in organizations, organizational change, and international business management. Courses such as Managing Leadership in Organizations and Strategic Management round out the first-year curriculum, providing a comprehensive understanding of the critical elements of organizational leadership and strategy. In the second year, students shift to advanced courses and practical experiences. The program includes a full-time, career-related internship lasting a minimum of 12 weeks, which allows students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. Additionally, an applied research project is completed to address a management-related issue within an organization. Students also take specialized courses such as Nonprofits and Issues in Management, Managerial Finance, and Managing Information Systems, focusing on areas like nonprofit management, financial strategies, and the role of technology in organizations. Further specialization is provided through courses like Managing Total Rewards, Innovation and Technology in Human Resources, and Creating a Healthy Organization. These courses delve into compensation systems, the use of innovative HR technologies, and the importance of creating wellness and safety programs within organizations. The second-year courses build on the core concepts from the first year, equipping students with the advanced skills needed to excel in leadership and management roles.
