ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Crandall University is a Baptist Christian liberal arts institution located in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, affiliated with the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada. Established in 1949 as the United Baptist Bible Training School (UBBTS), it originally functioned as a secondary and Bible school. Over the years, it transitioned into a post-secondary institution, becoming Atlantic Baptist College in 1970 and achieving degree-granting status in 1983. In 1996, the university moved to its current campus on Gorge Road and was renamed Atlantic Baptist University (ABU), reflecting its growing enrollment and academic recognition. In 2009, the institution adopted the name Crandall University in honor of Reverend Joseph Crandall, a prominent Baptist leader in the Maritime region. Crandall offers a diverse range of academic programs, including 16 undergraduate degrees, 3 graduate programs, and several certificate options. It maintains a student-focused learning environment, demonstrated by its 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Through a partnership with Acadia Divinity College, students can pursue a Bachelor of Theology alongside their Crandall degree. The university is an affiliate member of the Association of the Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC) and actively participates in the Atlantic Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers (AARAO), Christian Higher Education Canada (CHEC), and the New Brunswick Association of Private Colleges and Universities. Crandall's identity as a faith-based institution shapes its educational approach, while its growing academic offerings and community engagement have helped establish it as a unique English-language university within the Moncton region.
