COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering Technician program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to build both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for success in the mechanical and engineering industries. In the first semester, students focus on foundational courses such as College Writing, Technology Math I, Microsoft Office, Engineering Graphics, Mechanical Practices, Machine Shop I, Welding Practices I, and Applied Physics I, establishing a solid base in communication, math, technical drawing, and hands-on mechanical skills. The second semester advances students’ knowledge with Applied Physics II, Technology Math II, Machine Shop II, Welding Practices II, Power Transmission I, Industrial Design I, and an introduction to electricity, with opportunities to select electives to tailor the program. Communication skills and advanced math continue in the third semester alongside core engineering topics including Statics, Strength of Materials, Power Transmission II, Industrial Design II, and Fluid Power, supported by electives to broaden expertise. The fourth semester delves into specialized subjects such as Thermodynamics, CNC technology, Power Transmission III, Advanced Structural Design, and Fluid Mechanics, with additional elective courses for further customization. Throughout the program, students develop hands-on experience with machine shops, welding, and design projects, preparing them for real-world mechanical engineering technician roles. This structured progression ensures students acquire a balance of practical abilities and engineering theory, equipping them for careers in various mechanical industries or further studies.
